Dr. Matteson completed his Bachelor of Science at La Sierra University, then went on to earn his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Loma Linda University in 2006. When he graduated from dental school, Dr. Matteson was immediately accepted into the United States Army’s “Advanced Education in Prosthodontics” program at Fort Gordon, GA. During his time there, he received an in-depth understanding of dental ceramics and cosmetic dentistry, implants, temporomandibular disorders, sleep apnea, full-mouth rehabilitations, occlusion and restorative dentistry.

Dr. Matteson is also proud to be one of 2 board-certified prosthodontists in the state of Idaho. To achieve his certification, he successfully completed extensive examinations by the American Board of Prosthodontics.
When he’s not in the office, Dr. Matteson enjoys spending time with his wife, Julianne, and their twins. The family enjoys visiting the lake and local parks as they make Coeur d’Alene home for their family. They welcome your recommendation for attractions as they settle.

How long is the healing time?
It will take 3 to 5 appointments. Healing will take 15 days to 28 days.
What do advise your patients to do if they have a problem with their implant?
Problems with dental implants are rare, but they do happen. If you notice your dental implant has loosened, is causing your gum to swell, or the crown on top of your implant is cracked, call Dr. Matteson right away! A dental implant can’t fix itself and if you try to treat it yourself, you could end up causing more damage to your mouth.
