Hello Dear Friends,
I’ve been in the process of trying to get an Implant for a main front tooth.
I filed for a beneficiary exemption with my insurance backed by (3) three letters and complete dental records and radiographics from dental professionals and a LCSW. It was denied because Implants are considered “cosmetic”
Quoting a good friend “You’re absolutely right. It’s not just cosmetic! Would they cover an amputated finger and call that just cosmetic?”
Totally ruling out the mental anguish/psychological burden and self esteem…this has on a persons well being. As well I contacted Sharon Bennett/ Vincent Shuck Executive Director at American Academy of Implant Dentistry, Kathleen M Huttner – American Board of Oral Implantology, VSDS Executive Director, Vaughn Collins, as well as the Commissioner Department of Health Access in my home state and others. Which was an act of futility.
Lending Institutions do not place a high priority on loans for most dental work. This makes it nearly impossible unless you have near perfect credit, or mortgage your home/property to secure a loan.
Thank You for taking the time to read this and for your kindness…
God Bless,
RalphFYI:
