I had a bone graft done on 9/13/17 and was supposed to have my implant on 1/23/18. I got a phone call from the periodontist’s office the week before asking me to come in on 1/21/18. I asked for what and was told they wanted to go over the implant procedure. When I got there I was told that after viewing the ct scan there was not sufficient space for the implant due to the size of a previous implant next to where the new one was to be placed. I paid in full the amount due before anything was started. Now I am left with just a couple of options. Needless to say, I am very unhappy with the dentist and nothing was ever mentioned about lack of space. I just want a refund but don’t know what to ask for. I am located in Nashville TN and the periodontist is in Hendersonville TN.

Granted the anatomy changes once a tooth is removed but as far as space goes, I’m sure you can find another surgeon that would be able to accommodate you. You should receive a full refund in my honest opinion. Minus the work they have provided of course and I would ask for the 3D image to be copied onto a disk so you can take it to a surgeon who will deliver the goods. Many options are available nowadays for this specific issue. Implants come in various sizes. I would find a surgeon who has more experience. Get a second opinion for sure. Make sure you get your 3D image if you paid for that.
